NCALM Seed Proposals Not Solicited in 2023

Seed Proposal Information for Students and Advisors

For the past 18 years, NCALM has held an annual Seed Project competition for graduate students at U.S. institutions. These competitive, proposal-based awards were for up to 40 km2 of airborne lidar swath mapping for hypothesis-driven geoscience research.

However, NCALM’s current facility grant from NSF expires on September 30th of this year, and our facility renewal proposal is not scheduled to be reviewed by NSF until late 2023. The facility will continue to work with NSF PIs under a one-year, no-cost extension but will not have funding for Seed Projects until 2024, if our facility support is renewed by NSF.

Please reach out to our research team at ncalm [at] egr.uh.edu (ncalm[at]egr[dot]uh[dot]edu) if you have any questions. Thanks for your continued support and interest in the NCALM facility.
